Celebrate

Lake Tahoe. by Mialy DeFelice

Last weekend we celebrated my 29th birthday with a little weekend getaway to Lake Tahoe. I was hoping to perfectly recreate the trip we took there last year for my 28th birthday, where we went on the most amazing snow hike, but it was sadly not snowing. However, the lake did not disappoint one bit. We went on a 9 mile hike from Emerald Bay to DL Bliss state park (then back again). It was all the more amazing given that Eric was sick. By Sunday, I was unfortunately sick as well :(

I think part of me is sad that I am slowly leaving my 20s but another part of myself is a little ashamed of that. Losing Jenna has taught me how tenuous our grasp on life really is, I'm glad I can keep growing older. It's a gift.

Since on Sunday we were both sick, we didn't get to do another hike in Desolation Wilderness like I had planned, so I am hoping we can go back sometime soon :) I love love love Lake Tahoe :) I spent way too much time taking photos of the water. It was like tropical waters blue.

Up Up Update! by Mialy DeFelice

LA. December 2014.

Welcome to the new and improved Because We're Terrible!!!  This new blog layout was so fun to make.  You can't see it but I actually made 3 different potential blog layouts and 4 different logos, before landing the final design.  It was a ton of work, but I am so happy with the final look.   I hope you like the added features, and that everything is easier to use.  I have a new Photos tab, that I hope to update periodically.  You can either click through to a specific gallery from the drop down menu, or just click on "Photos" to see mini slideshow of a photo from each category :)

Anyway, I'm terribly happy about how everything looks now!

Also, I have some awesome news!

And since I am not a good planner, I do not have pictures of me popping a cork on a bottle of champagne... I just have a picture of the bottle, and some other food related highlights from the evening...

but...

I got into Stanford for graduate school! Woot woot!!  Applying for graduate school has been a process that has been infinitely more stressful this time around then when I was 22.  But I got some great comments, and I am oh so happy and proud, if I do say so myself.  So we celebrated with some real champagne, some cocktails and dessert waffles (because they are not breakfast!).

Anyways, we are off today for a wine tour in Sonoma!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
